My 1967 ChevyII Wagon Project (aka. "My Car Puzzle")

Well, where do I start… Years ago I wanted a Wagon. I liked the styling of the 66 and 67 ChevyII wagon’s, so I set out to find something locally that I could afford. I found this 1967 ChevyII wagon about 2 hours north of us and seemed to be solid and drivable, so I bought it. We drove it home without a single problem but knowing that the front end needed some bushings. I drove the car for about a month and it started flooding and leaving me nervous as to where I would end up sitting. The original intent of the car was as a daily driver, so I needed to rebuild the front end and while I was at it, the brakes too. Since the carb was flooding and since I was going to be driving it daily, I pulled the whole engine and decided to rebuild it. (You can see where this is going !!!)

With a baby on the way, I knew I needed to get the car back together and it would be the family car we could all drive around. I can have this car back together in 9 months… (as 2 more years quickly fly by...) Soon a second baby was on the way and what a great opportunity this would be to get the car done. (2 more years fly by…)
So, it started with a quick front end rebuild, lead to an engine rebuild and is now a full blown ground up restoration, that is 5+ years in the making and with any luck, within the next 2 years, be mobile ?!?!
I have gone through some “idea changes” from a number matching restoration, to a big billet wheeled street rod influenced look and have finally settled on a “Dropped-Whitewalled-Surfing Look” type of car. I plan on painting the car butternut yellow, black interior, Silvertown whitewalls on ARE Hopsters. Completed with Roof Rack and Air Ride. Powered by the original 283ci.
